What is a Certificate of Status

A Certificate of Status is also called a Certificate of Good Standing or Certificate of Existence. Only the California Secretary of State can issue this certificate for all California entities. A Certificate of Status will confirm that your business:

  • paid taxes
  • filed all documents necessary with the state
  • and is up to date on paying its state fees
